I had been using sendmail on gentle for a couple of years, but I hadn't
done anything unusual with it. I switched to qmail very quickly and
easily.

I agree. Here are some of the advantages ezmlm+qmail has over
majordomo+sendmail:
- Much faster deliveries.
- Supposedly, more reliability. I don't have enough data to tell if
this is really true or not.
- Better security. You can't subscribe ezmlm lists to each other, and
you can't subscribe someone else to a mailing list unless you can read
the confirmation message. (Majordomo tries to do this and fails.)
- Automatic archiving.
- Automatic intelligent bounce handling -- enough bounces over a long
enough time will remove someone from the list, but a small number of
bounces will result in notification of which mails had bounced being
sent to the person who failed to receive them.

Here are some things I'd like to see out-of-the-box with ezmlm:
- Moderated mailing lists.
- Mailing lists with approval required to subscribe.

These two things are quite easy to accomplish with ezmlm, though, by
changing one or more of the .qmail files.
